Gold Flotation - 911 Metallurgist
13/07/2016 REAGENTS USED IN FLOTATION OF GOLD ORES. Conditioning agents are commonly used, especially when the ores are partly oxidized. Soda ash is the most widely used regulator of alkalinity. Lime should not be used because it is a depressor of free gold and inhibits pyrite flotation. Sodium sulphide is often helpful in the flotation of partly oxidized sulphides but must be used with caution because of its depressing action on free gold.
17 - Flotation of Gold Ores - Aalto
These ores belong to a group of refractory gold ores, where flotation techniques can be used to (a) remove interfering impurities before the hydrometallurgical treatment process of the ore for gold recovery, and (b) to preconcentrate the ore for further pyrometallur gical or hydrometallurgical treatment. There are several flotation methods used
Improved recovery of a low-grade refractory gold ore using ...
01/07/2014 Often, the gold bearing ores are refractory due to the gold grains and concentration by flotation is necessary, either followed by roasting, bacterial leaching, or pressure leaching in a way that the gold is liberated prior to cyanidation. Two basic initial approaches are available, either treating the whole ore or processing some form of concentrate into which a high proportion of the gold has been recovered. A moderately low grade of the bulk ore
Sulphide Gold Ore Treatment by Leaching and Flotation
18/04/2016 With the advent of flotation and the fact that gold either free or finely disseminated in pyrite, etc., could be floated, many possibilities opened up for the treatment and concentration of gold ores. It also provided the means of working ore bodies hitherto considered unprofitable or metallurgically impossible for cyanide treatment. Two examples are the large low-grade ore bodies which require
The flotation of gold bearing ores — A review - ScienceDirect
The practice of the flotation of pure gold and gold-bearing ores such as tellurides, aurostibite, kerogen, pyrite, pyrrhotite, copper-gold ores and mixed sulphides is reviewed. The factors which influence the choice of collectors, pH and Eh, are discussed as well as the application of differential flotation. The importance of proper conditioning is highlighted and applications of various flotation cells and circuits
Flash flotation of free coarse gold using dithiophosphate ...
The particle size has a great effect on the recovery of gold by flotation due to its high density. The flotation is effective for gold particles in the range of 20200 - μm. For finer sizes, the selectivity of the gold decrease because of the floating of ore gangue. For thicker particle sizes, flotation must be done
Gold processing - Mining and concentrating Britannica
Gold processing - Gold processing - Mining and concentrating: The nature of the ore deposit determines the mining and mineral processing techniques applied. Oxide ore deposits are frequently of such low grade (e.g., 3 to 10 parts per million) that extensive mineral processing cannot economically be justified. In this case they are merely shattered by explosives and then piled into heaps for extraction by

RECOVERY OF COPPER FROM OXIDE COPPER ORE BY FLOTATION
The aim of this study was the recovery of copper from the oxide copper ore by froth flotation and agitating sulphuric acid (H 2 SO 4) leaching. The ore with 4.21% copper grade used in this study was obtained from Çorum-Dangaz region of Turkey. Native copper, cuprite (Cu 2 O), tenorite (CuO), and malachite (Cu 2 (OH) 2 /CO 3) were the main copper minerals in the test sample. Quartz, calcite ...
